Interim Operations Director
The client was a UK manufacturing company. The client business was a
family concern which had struggled to cope with the introduction of
offshore competition. The manufacturing processes were labour intensive
and built around traditional batch & queue methods. The Interim
Operations Director was required to modernise the shop floor layouts,
introduce lean manufacturing techniques and put in place a more cost effective planning, material control and production organisation.
Interim Change Manager
The client operated within the professional services sector. The
senior management team were unhappy with the 'execution' skills within
the business and believed that greater margins could be achieved.
Aster's Interim Change Manager was responsible for implementing more
robust business processes creating an organisation that maximised the
skills of the individuals within the team and providing business
coaching and mentoring for the key members of staff.
Interim Project Manager
The client was a new company derived from an established leading brand
as a result of a MBO. The clients’ management team required an Interim Project Manager to
work with the incumbent team to manage the transition to ‘newco’.
Aster’s Interim Manager supported the client by helping to set up new
facilities, IT infrastructure, develop existing quality procedures and
by providing coaching and mentoring support to new members of the team.
Interim Sales & Marketing Manager
The client was a SME manufacturing company in the South East of
England. The client organisation had been very successful in growing
the business to a certain size but the management team believed they
needed fresh impetus to take them to the next level. They wanted an
impartial, objective eye to be cast over their selling processes to
ensure they we doing all they could. In addition, the Interim Sales & Marketing Manager
would be asked to provide both coaching and mentoring to the permanent
sales force. 12 months later, the client had a re-invigorated sales
team, sales had grown by over 15% and they had solid robust sales
processes in place.
Interim General Manager
The client was a sales, service and refurbishment company in the
capital equipment sector. A very successful long standing business in
its own right, our client required an InterimGeneral Manager to
appraise their business and offer up advice on modernising some of
their business processes.
Interim Business Development Manager
The client was a manufacturing company focussed in the defence sector.
A company which had grown by ‘word of mouth’ now wanted to launch a
major brand awareness campaign. This would involve a new marketing
strategy aimed to appeal to the industries buyers. The Interim Business Development Manager
was charged with creating a marketing plan which was to include
creating a new web-site, e-mail promotions, improved telesales,
organising trade shows and capturing all of the new information by
means of customer relationship management software.
Interim Change Manager
The client was a manufacturing company supplying the pet food market.
As a result of business dynamics the Interim Change Manager
was required to work with the main board directors to restructure the
business in line with the ongoing order book. This involved handling
delicate negotiations with both supply partners and employees alike to
ensure the resulting business model was robust and appropriate to the
company’s ongoing requirements.
Interim Lean Implementation Manager
The client was an electronics manufacturing company. The main board of
directors required an experienced Lean practitioner to help them remove
waste from their business processes. The role involved setting up
cellular manufacturing, coaching and mentoring managers and training
staff in basic lean tools such as 5S, 7 Wastes, Kanban and SMED.
Interim Supply Chain Manager
The client was a manufacturing company. An Interim Supply Chain Manager
was required to lead the implementation of a series of cost reduction
projects using tools including reverse e auctions to leverage the
supplier base for better performance. The commodity manager was
responsible for delivering a pre agreed level of cost reductions and
consolidation of spend amongst a reduced number of vendors.
Interim Turnaround Manager
The client was a UK based manufacturing company which had seen its
order book reduce significantly as a result of the loss of major
contracts. An experienced Interim Turnaround Manager was
required to work with the existing senior management team to
restructure the businesses cost base, to organise re-financing of the
business and put processes in place to attract new customers.
Interim Sales & Marketing Manager
The client was a UK based software development company. An Interim Sales & Marketing Manager
was required to work with the existing sales team to develop a sales
and marketing strategy designed to both increase brand awareness and
lead to the closure of a higher percentage of leads/prospects.
Interim Materials Manager
The client was a manufacturing company in the south of England. The Interim MaterialsManager
was required to review their materials strategy from vendor selection
through to purchase order receipt. As with most of these types of
assignments, the interim manager was required to coach and mentor
exiting materials staff to ensure that the new strategies were
understood and being adopted throughout the organisation.
